Childbirth Classes

  1. How many classes are there in a series?

    Six.

  2. How long is each class?

    2 Hours

  3. How many couples are in each class?

    Three or more

  4. Can you bring more than one support person or come alone?

    Yes and yes.

  5. What type of learning techniques are used?

    Lecture, videos, exercises, group activities and optional homework.

  6. What topics are covered?

    Pregnancy, physiology of birth, coping techniques for labor,basic breastfeeding, newborn care and postpartum care.  I also work to help the mother and birth support person(s) to identify and use resources which REALLY help! 

  7. Where are the classes held?

    Also available as private, in home sessions.

  8. What do I need to bring?

    Yourself, comfortable clothing, pillow and any food or drink that you may want.

  9. Is there a cost for classes? If so, will the instructor barter, provide a sliding scale?

    Please email or call for further information. All fees include workbook and other materials.

    Payment arrangements or bartering can be made on a case by case basis.Please discuss your situation with me so that we can work something out. 

  10. Is the instructor certified or affiliated with any organization?

    Yes.

  11. Are private classes available?

    Yes, for an additional fee.

  12. May I please have the names of some women who have recently worked with you as their doula, for reference purposes?

    I provide references, upon request, when or after an interview for services has taken place.
